Mi nombre es Abel Gonzales. Tengo 37 años y nací en el Mothe San Salvador Hidalgo México en 1984. He vivido en Asheville desde el año 2003. Trabajó en la organización Ma Hñäkihu desde el año 2016

My name is Abel Gonzales. I am 37 years old and was born in Mothe San Salvador Hidalgo Mexico in 1984. I have lived in Asheville since 2003. Worked in the organization Ma Hñäkihu since 2016.​

Gregorio Ortiz
Cofundador 

Mi nombre es Gregorio Ortiz, Soy de Hidalgo, México, y llevo más de 25 años viviendo en la comunidad de Emma. Trabajo en la construcción y tengo un negocio de comida sana. Soy residente-propietario de la Cooperativa de Casas Móviles Sourwood. Fui uno de los cofundadores de Mä hñäkihu en 2016.

my name is Gregorio Ortiz and I am from Hidalgo, Mexico and have lived in the Emma community for over 25 years. I works in construction and have a health food business. I am also a resident-owner of the Sourwood Mobile Home Cooperative. I was one of the co-founders of Mä hñäkihu in 2016.

Deshacernos de la vergüenza impuesta por la sociedad en la que crecimos y aceptar y valorar nuestra cultura y manternernos conectados e informados con ella’.

​Animar a la comunidad a recuperar su confianza y hablar su lengua y preservar su cultura hñähñu a través de la realización de actividades creativas.
​To get rid of the shame imposed by the society we grew up in and to accept and value our culture and stay connected and informed with it'.

Encourage the community to regain their confidence and speak their language and preserve their Hñähñu culture through creative activities.
